Therapy That Supports Healing and Growth Through Trauma-Informed Care for Teens, Adults & Families in Holland, Michigan

Your Therapy Process

Therapy looks different for everyone. Your therapy process is grounded in meeting you where you are, moving at a pace that feels safe, and using approaches that support meaningful, lasting growth and healing. Our work together is collaborative and shaped by your goals, your experiences, and what feels most helpful to you as you move forward.

Therapy for Teens & Adolescents

The teen years can be both meaningful and challenging, filled with change, pressure, and big emotions. At Rise to Renew Counseling, I work with teens of all ages and their families to create a supportive space where adolescents can feel understood, respected, and safe to be themselves. My work focuses on healing from trauma, strengthening communication, and navigating family dynamics, school pressures, and life stressors, while also supporting teens in managing anxiety, building healthy coping skills, and developing confidence as they grow.

Therapy for Adults

Life is full of transitions, and at times those changes can feel overwhelming or hard to navigate alone. I work with adults to build confidence, manage stress and anxiety, and explore the impact of past and present experiences, including trauma. Together, we focus on strengthening coping skills, improving relationships and communication, and creating healthier, more sustainable patterns that support growth, clarity, and overall well-being.

Trauma-Informed Therapy & Healing

Trauma can affect how we think, feel, and respond long after an experience has passed. Trauma-informed therapy focuses on creating safety, building stability, and working through experiences at a pace that feels supportive and manageable, while honoring your strengths and resilience.

I use evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR and TF-CBT, to support healing. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming and no longer carry the same emotional intensity. TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is a structured, supportive approach that helps individuals, especially children and teens, understand trauma responses, build coping skills, and change unhelpful thought patterns connected to traumatic experiences.

Whether you are working through a single event or the effects of ongoing or past trauma, our work will focus on helping you regain a sense of safety, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.

Therapy for Couples & Families

Relationships and family life can be deeply meaningful, and they can also be a source of stress, conflict, or disconnection—especially during times of change or strain. I work with couples and families to create a supportive space where each person feels heard, understood, and respected.

Our work may focus on improving communication, strengthening connection, navigating conflict, and addressing patterns that feel stuck or unhelpful. Whether you are working through ongoing challenges, adjusting to a new season of life, or supporting a child or teen, therapy can help create healthier, more supportive relationships and a stronger sense of understanding within your family.

If you’re unsure where to begin, we can start by talking through what you’re experiencing and what you’re hoping for.
